Did you buy your phone from a mobile provider?

Mobile providers will sell phones to customers with built-in contracts, which are binding. They will not allow services from any other providers. 

Can I use an eSIM plan?

No, A built-in contract with your provider will prevent this. 

What can I do? 

There are a couple of options. You can wait until your contract expires or contact your provider and have them cancel your current contract. Once freed from your contract, you will be able to buy and use eSIM plans.
