Welcome to ZIM
CONNECTED EVERYWHERE AT ALL TIMES
The future of connectivity
With new innovative and insightful technology, we strive to enhance our users’ everyday experiences. Founded in 2020, our incredible team are working tirelessly to bring ZIM to the forefront of the industry.
ZIM Connections Ltd is an application that integrates e-sim technology with an easy-to-use app. The concept is that people that travel want to be connected from the first moment they land and this is what ZIM will offer them. By making partnerships with mobile providers all over the world we can make a task that might seem inconvenient, which is buying a sim card upon arrival to a new destination, simple and easy with just one click. The use of e-sim technology means that this will be virtual, no need for the physical sim card to be sent to the customer.
SIM for Generation Z
The humble SIM card has survived for quite a while, but now it finally looks like it’s on its way out. The eSIM, a much smarter technology, is here to save the day.
A SIM, which stands for “subscriber identity module,” basically contains the information that authenticates your identity to a carrier. Instead of a physical card, eSIM technology is built right into your phone. It’s a small chip that’s used to authenticate your identity with your carrier.
When travelling with a traditional SIM card, you may have to swap to another carrier’s SIM card to keep your coverage. If you want to change carriers at home, you’ll also have to physically replace your SIM card. One of the advantages of eSIM technology is that it makes it much easier to switch carriers. Instead of having to order a new SIM and wait around for it to arrive, you can switch to a new carrier straight from your phone, as well as benefiting from the dual SIM feature, which means you will not lose your domestic phone connection.
Some handset manufacturers, like Apple and Google, have adopted eSIM tech, and many major carriers around the world support eSIM service already.

ZIM was founded by two young women who shared a passion for traveling.
We decided to embark on the adventure of creating our own business. We have been friends for 12 years and shared millions of great moments. Many of these moments have been while travelling. We encountered the same problem during our last years of travelling internationally: connection. When you arrive at a new destination that is not included in your domestic plan you will need to buy a local sim card to tell your loved ones you arrived safely, or even paying enormous amounts of money for roaming to tell your boss the news about your meeting.
10 years ago, you had to queue at the airport to get a taxi, but today you can just order an Uber: fast with just one click. eSIM technology has been available since 2015, right there on our hands, as almost all mobile phones manufactured after 2015 have an eSIM chip embedded. SIM cards have been present for the past 30 years. This humble SIM card has survived for quite a while, but now it finally looks like it’s on its way out.
Instead, the new generation of eSIM technology is here to save the day. The new embedded SIM card, a much smarter technology which is permanently integrated into a device. It’s a small chip that’s used to authenticate your identity with your carrier. So, why if the technology exists, we still have to go through the painful moment of queuing to buy a local SIM card and then changing it, furthermore losing our domestic number for a few days/weeks? Why hasn’t this been invented yet?
And this is how we started ZIM Connections Ltd! An application that will embed the eSIM technology into an easy-to-use app for leisure and business travel.

Since 2016, Europe has been under a roaming zone. So, if you are already using a European mobile plan it won't be necessary for you to get ZIM to travel within European countries.
Although, 92 million Europeans have travelled to another continent in 2019. Furthermore, 713 million international arrivals have been registered in Europe for 2019. Our service will be global, which will permit travellers outside of the EU to benefit from roaming, as well as EU travellers to benefit from their destination's mobile rate.
